Tune ECU to same model and made car

Hi there

I want to know how does this work. One of my friend sold me he turbo setup on he GSR with tune ecu on he car. basically he swap the whole kits over beside the head, block and transmision. I have the hard time try to start it. sometimes I can some times i cannot. it crank but wont stay on. i smell really bad fuel coming thru the vent and engine base. So does that mean I need to tune for my car?or just something wrong?
